Must your employer pay you?
No. Employers must allow leave without pay and may not require use of vacation, sick or annual leave1
Job protection
Discharging, threatening, intimidating or coercing an employee for jury service is an unlawful employment practice. Employers with 10 or more employees must keep elected insurance1
Postponing or being excused
A judge or clerk may defer service for good cause to a term within one year. Excuse is for undue hardship or extreme inconvenience, or at 70 or older1
