Job protection
Firing or threatening a juror is a gross misdemeanor. Employers may not require sick leave or vacation use or work within 8 hours before reporting1

The court may temporarily excuse a juror for illness, family death, undue hardship, extreme inconvenience or public necessity and set a later date1
